God, if there is another life after this one, a second chance,
Please let me come back as one of the Precious Women.
One of the soft, delicate women who people look at and think,
"She needs to be protected and cherished."
I know it's too late for this lifetime,
But I'm so tired of being the strong one,
The tough survivor who people look at and say,
"She's fine, she can handle it."
Because, God, I don't think I can.
Alright already, STOP! Maybe Kardashian was a poor choice,
it was 3 am and I couldn't think of a more useless, helpless
example of female at the time.
I would just like to be treated as a defenseless,
helpless damsel once in a while, that's all.
Of course, then I would have to crush them....
You can , if only because you have to.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to have someone who could make a plan, instead of having to be the one to always take point, and make the decisions....one the other hand, do you know where I can get a helmet like that? ;)
ReplyDeleteMiss V
I know, Miss V, it's a cool helmet, huh? I'm thinking Crusade era. Joan of Arc. I wish the picture had been full and showed the sword.
ReplyDeleteFarm Dad, yeah. ~sigh~ But next life, I'm coming back as a Kardashian. NOBODY expects a Kardashian to handle ANYTHING.
You may not be perceived as a soft, delicate woman, but you still should be protected and cherished.
ReplyDeleteGrand, *hug*

We can handle anything. Yes it gets weary. I would rather deal with what you speak than a life filled with insipid petty things. If you feel no real pain you cannot feel real joy.
ReplyDeleteIt does get tiresome though. Just moments of beautiful relief are welcomed and savored.
I know, Keads, it was kind of whiney, huh? :-P
ReplyDeleteMore what I want is a partner, to know someone has my back as much as I have his.
Challenges shared.
Ah, I now know more of what you speak. Challenges shared indeed.
ReplyDeleteI will say this here. I don't run my personal life out on my Blog much. In the 7 years I have spent alone here I have learned more about myself than ever before. It is a gift but as you note it comes at a price.
Not whiney at all. Oh, since all of the Blog 'o sphere and just about anyone that watches Fox News here now knows, call me Kelly =)
~squeal~ ohmygodohmygodohmygod! YOU'RE FAMOUS!!!!!
ReplyDelete;-) Most everybody knows I'm Leslie.
Nice to meet you Leslie.
DeleteTough love - you know damn well you would rather be you, now, than a kardashian p.o.shit any day of the week!
ReplyDeleteNow buck up young lady!
Okay, timbo, maybe not a Kardashian, but I'd still like to be the type of woman that isn't left on the side of the highway to change her own flat (even though I can probably do it faster than a lot of men). It would just be nice to not have to.
ReplyDeleteBucking up now.
Ditto, Kelly. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Kardashians get no respect. They do nothing to earn it.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin' :)
Being somewhat of an amateur historian of the ancient and medieval periods and very familiar with armor, I would say the helmet, given the cheek pieces and nasal is reminiscent of a Roman-Sassinid cavalry helmet of the fourth century.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I cannot find a picture on the web of one of the originals.
