What wirecutter said...

HERE

Now my two cents. I've seen this video of Suzanna Hupp, survivor of the Luby's massacre, in which she tells Congress that she wasn't a victim of gun violence, she was a victim of the laws that prevented her from carrying her weapon into Luby's that day. Say what?! Luby's can supercede your 2nd Amendment rights? Movie theaters, malls, grocery stores and restaurants can strip you of your God-given right to self defense by posting a little paper sign in their windows? WTF? REALLY?! She had her lawfully owned weapon locked in her car out in the parking lot, just like she was told to do, where it was the least fucking good for anyone. Mere yards away, she had the tool necessary to stop a madman and save innocent lives, but she chose to disarm herself because people who had no right told her to. That is 50 Shades of Fucked Up, folks.

So my two cents, YOU have the tools, YOU have the choice, and only YOU have the responsibility to save yourself and your loved ones. THEY  should not have the power to strip you of that right. But so many willingly lay it down to play by the fucked up rules. What are YOU willing to do?

  6. I have a problem with the term "legally carry firearms". There should be no "legally" involved. I can carry a baseball bat, a banjo, a backpack full of who knows what, hell even a babies arm holding an apple. Why can't I carry a gun?

Day of resistance this Sat at noon.

  7. While I thoroughly agree that a Right can't be superceded by a law, I'm a little skeeved out by the baby's arm holding an apple thing...

  15. Let's just say "concealed" means concealed. Your private property ends at my clothes.

    Dig?

  16. It wasn't Luby's that disarmed her, it was Texas state law. At the time of the luby's shooting, Texas had no carry law. You could carry a weapon in your vehicle if you were "traveling". Travelling was considered crossing into 3 or more counties. A loophole I used all the time. Ms. Hupp was very instrumental in getting a carry law passed.

  17. True enough, Robert, but that goes back to the discussion of whether or not any man or entity can override an unalienable RIGHT with a law. Or rule. You either have a RIGHT to bear arms, or you don't.

When a law is made by man infringing on a Right from God, it comes down to the individual's choice. Do I exercise my right or do I subjugate it to man's laws? We've been conditioned to put man's laws before God's.

  18. We have to make those decisions. I started carrying a gun at 19, in Kommifornistan. No where near legal, but I figured the benefit outweighed the possible consequences. After the incident I decided a little law breaking was in order. In my Texas years, I used the travelling exception to keep a loaded gun in the car. Now I'm all legal with a permit to carry and as the holder of 2 FFL's. Now I kind of have to be careful. ;)

  19. True, I make that balanced decision every day, being able to protect my girls and being free (unincarcerated) for my girls.

The pain in Dr. Hupp's voice as she recalls her decision to follow the law and what it cost her is heart-breaking. 20/20 hindsight is the costliest lesson.

  20. I agree. I think she is one brave woman. She has the heart of a lion to finally get concealed carry passed. I have watched several of her videos and I have to admit to getting a bit weepy. I would truly like to meet her, I bet in person she would be a hoot.
