Growing Pains

 
I'm too old and have been hurt too much to be an optimist.
It's just not in my nature to be a pessimist.
So now, I need to become a realist.

    Well I consider myself an optimistic realist!
    I deal with one shit pile at a time while under the assumption that eventually I'll run out of shit piles. In reality I never will, but if I didn't fool myself with the optimism, there would be no reason to get out of bed!

    I guess I'm cautiously optimistic, with a realistic twinge. What gets me out of bed in the morning is the slight chance that I could get to kill zombies today.
