The results revealed
that on a basic level, BDSM practitioners are no more troubled than the general
population.
In fact they were more
outgoing, more open to new experiences and more conscientious than less
adventurous participants.
They were also less
neurotic, a personality trait marked by anxiety.
Enjoying the clink of chains in skin can be a sign that
you are mentally balanced
BDSM aficionados also
scored lower than the general public on rejection sensitivity, a measure of how
paranoid people are about others disliking them.
People in the BDSM scene
reported higher levels of happiness in the past two weeks than people outside
it, and they said they felt more secure in their
relationships

ReplyDeleteROFLOL...
ReplyDeleteNot sure Angel... But suddenly you sound like a flaming liberal...
Really?!?!??!
Jeffry Dauhmer was known to be a coolest and a calmest person by all those who met him in person...
the measure of his sadistic mind is still and perhaps forever be unknown...
Perhaps you are trying to rationalize or connect things that have nothing to do with one another...
Just saying...
"Dominants tended to be the most balanced, submissives the least and switches (those who enjoy dominating and being dominated) were in the middle."
ReplyDeleteSwitches were in the middle?
Go figure.
Terry
Fla.
I knew there was a reason for my normality! LMAO
ReplyDeleteLMAO Mr Bill!
ReplyDeleteThe definition of a flaming Liberal is a married guy that talks about wet pussy, in French ,on blogs to married woman.
You know like Mr. Bill Clinton,
How do you say cigar in French?
Or my wife is red headed ;-)
Did you say that folks who do BDSM (what does BDSM mean?) are tied into their relationships?
ReplyDeleteChris in Houston
Okay, a quick BDSM tutorial.
ReplyDeleteBD (Bondage/discipline, ie. tie me up and flog me)
DS (Dominance/submission, ie. Girl, kneel and present. Sir, I am yours for your pleasure)
SM (Sadism/masochism, i.e. Ouch! again!)
They can be mixed and mingled along a broad spectrum of kink. Not everybody is into everything, and definitely not at the same intensity. You have to find someone who's kink is compatible.
All knowing! Splendid, splendid.
ReplyDeleteWell thank you all. I know know shit I never knew.
ReplyDeleteGuess it's true you are never to old to learn.
Thanks Angel for the great summurization.

Academically only, rpm. All knowledge, no practice. ~pushes geek glasses back up her nose~
ReplyDeleteIt's a start, eh?
ReplyDeleteSome say that fantasies are best left as just that.
My experience dictates differently.
Breakfast Club. "Sometimes being bad feels pretty damn good".
Oh, rpm, let's leave my fantasies out of this....~whew~ My experience dictates I don't know what the hell I'm doing. ;-)
ReplyDeleteTie me up, spank me and pull my hair...lol I don't see a problem!
ReplyDeleteMiss Lisa, ~wink~ I knew I liked you.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you explained BDSM as three pairs rather than 4 things and uninformed people might think. And they can be mixed in equal/unequal parts depending on person, place, or time.
ReplyDeleteI've seen people around the blogs act very pro-gay rights and then denigrate any other alternate lifestyle. For them one kink is OK, the other just doesn't work with their feeble minds. But then people like that are likely the ones in the study that are the "low" ones in the "general population."
They are probably completely unable to relate to anything that would challenge them - unlikely to know their own strengths, let alone perceive/craft the strengths of others.
You are quite far above normal, Angel.
The admiration is mutual, Grand. And that's part of Libertarianism. I have no business dictating what goes on in the bedroom between consenting adults. And I expect the same courtesy from others.
ReplyDelete"I have no business dictating what goes on in the bedroom between consenting adults."
ReplyDeleteUnless I'm filming.
Focus!
Bwah-ha-ha-ha! ~snort~
ReplyDeleteThat's "directing", hon, not "dictating". Or did you mean "dick-tating"?
I'm one of those Ds.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, what was this about? I didn't get past the title before my eyes glazed over and I dropped into a waking fantasy.
ReplyDeleteAngel, learning by doing can be underrated...
ReplyDeleteMiss Lisa, I like your thinking!
Focus, Mr. Miracle, focus. And welcome to my little corner of fantasy.
ReplyDelete~puts on her white blouse, plaid skirt and knee high socks~
ReplyDeleteOkay, Prof. rpm, I'm not tardy, am I?
To the cloak room for your punishment! Woof!
ReplyDeleteYou are winning tonight.
Did I or did I not tell you I wasn't going to take it easy on you? Hmmm?
ReplyDeleteBut now it's past my bedtime, hitting the showers then the sheets.
Sweet dreams.
Jeeze! School girl outfit, talk of corners and such! I am COMPLETELY FOCUSED! Like a "lazzer"! You, young lady, are in rare form tonight.
ReplyDeleteSleep well.
ReplyDeleteROFLAMFLOL...
ReplyDeleteWOw... Millwright, that was good... Yeah, I see whatcha you mean there... Nice and blunt too... I like it... Hey, unlike animals us humans do learn and grow... HI just like to say there are so many half nekkid pictures and pretty redheads, ans sexual innuendoes in these Conservative blogs, how can we not talk about sexual stuff... But I see whatcha saying there... May be it's just me... But point taken...
;-)
I'm not sure about the validity of the sample or how it was selected. From what I've seen the BDSM scene around here (the public part of it, anyway) attracts a lot of very broken people, especially on the submissive side.
ReplyDeleteI find it safest to avoid all of them...
Can't put too much faith in that survey. They are, after all, English.
