Healing Boo-Boo Salve

We've covered Bug Balm, after-bite balm, and now a general all-purpose, all-natural Boo-Boo ointment. In this house, boo-boos are more the norm than the exception. I buy bandages, gauze and medical tape by the case. And something I've noticed, Neosporin doesn't work that well on us.

I stumbled across this recipe, tried it and had it just in time for the first heat rash of the summer. It works magnificently. Brilliantly. And it's great for rough, calloused heels.

The recipe makes enough for an 8 oz jar, and will keep for a year. All of the ingredients can be bought in bulk and kept for much longer than that, always on hand to make more as you need it.

  1. Have seen it recommended to use local honey from a local beekeeper. Two reasons: some commercial honey is adulterated and local contains "stuff" from the local area to help reduce allergies. As luck would have it, our local honey is orange blossom. REALLY good.

Says good for diaper rash so I am guessing good for depends rash also....

Great post. Printing link and adding to binder.
