I never grew up

In the last three days, I have...
drawn on the driveway with sidewalk chalk,
had water balloon and water gun fights,
played checkers and marbles,
ate watermelon without utensils,
and played with soap bubbles.
We adults were having a blast
while the kids texted and played online.
Today, the girls and I christened the new trampoline
by jumping on it with the sprinkler going.
Life is good.

  1. Only be grown up when the situation calls for it otherwise have at it.That's my thought anyways.

  2. What...you mean that adults in your neighborhood DON'T do stuff like that on a regular basis? That's....disturbing!

  4. We had bb guns for the nephews, but they weren't interested (and mom wasn't too thrilled with the "gun" option).

Rabid, we were playing Strip Hopscotch.

  6. Growing old is mandatory, growing up is not. We had a snowball fight in the house one winter. Kind of messy, but a lot of fun when you can't find anyplace to hide.

  7. Angel eyes, I have never won a snowball fight because the family gangs up on me.

Could be because I start them all.

  8. We got rid of the cable-we have no video games-The Munchkin isn't allowed to use cell phones- we allow ONLY educational on line connectivity. We plant trees ,have adventures, follow animal trails to find dens and maybe see babies, I want my munchkin to grow up in the world-NOT the E-world.---Ray

  9. Let's put this in perspective people...
The chalk outlines were around bodies.
Water gun fights were crowd control exercises.
Checkers and Marbles are both military strategy games.
Eating watermelon with bare hands is symbolic of our primal need for flesh ripped fresh from the game.
and, and,...I got nothin' for soap bubbles... WAIT!!!
Swatting at soap bubbles increases hand/eye coordination for CQB activities...(YAY ME!!!)
[I would have hurt myself on the trampoline...]
