What an awesome talent lost and a real tragedy (helicopter accident), his studio version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing' is in my top 10 best evah music compositions. I can only imagine what result could have come from the pair of them playing together on stage.
If this was the bad ol' days, I'd twist up a big fatty, do a couple (or more) lines and down about a half a bottle of single malt......but since this is not the bad ol' days, I think that I will listen to "Texas Flood".
I was at Alpine Valley for his last show. Started with Robert Cray, then Stevie, then Clapton. Awesome show. Clapton's encores were spectacular. Jimmy Vaughn, Bonnie Rait on the wings, and one of the best renditions of "My guitar Gently Weeps" by Jeff Heally (R.I.P, also) Someone had to come up and grab him before he went off the front of the stage, he was rockin'! I still tear up whenever I think of that night. DixieDennis

For me, THAT.... was the day the music died. Saw him in concert for the "Live Alive" tour.

Just played Little Wing to mourn. To quit drugs and alcohol just to die in a helicopter crash... He is still missed.

I can't describe the emotion I felt when I watched Stevie play...but then I watched the next video with Miley. I can sure as hell describe that one.
