I have more versions of Pachabel's Canon in D than any other song that I have. I er... started collecting it.
I know what it's like to have the baseline. Fun fact: Trombone gets the melody in the beginning of Russian Sailors' Dance. I think there was a version of Silent Night I played where the beginning was either 20 measures of rest or 20 measures of D whole notes.
If you play Trombone, you get really familiar with D and B-flat.
