Hey, La Raza, NO!

Next time you hear some cockamamie bullshit about "stolen lands" and repatriating the Southwest to Mexico, gently remind them that they were beaten, they ceded the lands for a few million American dollars, and 90% of their citizens chose full citizenship of the US rather than relocating to the new boundaries of Mexico. Ironically, this was the first case of amnesty.

  1. Or just remind them that the Spaniards stole all of Latin America from the Incas and Mayans, so if they want give backs they need to go first.

  2. I don't like illegal immigration. It should be stopped... BUT using this as an argument ? You know who started that mexican war ?

Mexico had allowed, legally, US citizens to live in Texas, California, etc. Then these citizens decided they wanted to be part of the US, and the US government invaded Mexico to help them. Is that legal ? -- so many of the people in this lands were already Americans !!

  3. Actually, the "Texicans" (or some say "Texians") who inhabited Texas around the time of the Alamo wanted to be their own country, and not be a part of the United States (or Mexico). After the Alamo and San Jacinto, Texas was the "Republic of Texas," an independent country.

The US didn't invade Mexico until 1846, after the US "annexed" Texas into the US in 1845.

You'd think Mexico would learn not to mess with the US, and the Mexicans end up with a bloody nose every time they try!
