Back in my retail slave-labor days, I actually had a store manager who did this. Couldn't figure out why the special-order kiosk didn't work. Yes....these people are out there, and yes, they're breeding. And voting.
Couple of decades ago, the datacom business I worked for had a call from a customer who's modem stopped working after she changed offices. When asked if the modem was plugged in to a power outlet AND to the computer via a phone cable, her response was "Well, it wasn't before and it worked." ...*sigh*.
How do you help someone that stupid over the phone. You can't bitch-slap through a phone. Of course someone that stupid may slap themselves if you suggested it. I never tried that.
