I am wrecked

We got 14 inches of snow last night. Our driveway is 30 feet wide by 50 feet long. I shoveled:
  1. 49.554 cubic meters
  2. 49,554,000 cubic centimeters
  3. 64.815 cubic yards
  4. 1750 cubic feet
  5. 3,024,000 cubic inches
  6. 13,091 US gallons (it was VERY wet snow)
  7. 49,554 liters
Every inch of my body is screaming in agony. I hate snow.

  1. Angel, we were lucky here. We only got about 10. Doppler Dave says that shits gonna melt by itself.

  2. What I want to know, what does 1 cubic meter of snow weigh? And I reccommend a couple of stiff shots before bed.

  3. 1 cubic meter of snow= 1 fuck ton
And I'm WAY ahead of you.

  4. Well... I suppose you don't want to hear that in Minnesota the snow was melting for the past couple of days?

Can I make up for it by saying at least you have a hat and gloves? :D

  5. Oh yes, Miss Sara, I was very stylish in my DeerFuck hat. :-)

  6. Yay! :D

Here is smiles for you, a reward for all that work. (Instead of going all the way back to that other thread)

  7. Are we trying to play on sympathy of those of us in snow country? To us that is a almost daily occurrence...

  8. Damn, Sara, that's a whole lot of motorboating.

  10. Sounds like it weighed a ...metric ton.

Supposed to hit 70 this weekend. With any luck I'll be pulling a Wirecutter and heading for the foothills for some walkin' about.

  11. That's why they invented the South.

  12. What the fuck? I'd have shoveled a path 5 feet wide and 20 feet long.

  14. 14"???
    That's all?
The last decent storm we got, I had to deal with roughly 30". SHIT, the Tug Hill Plateau will get that much in less than 6 hours when the lake effect is rolling.
The first winter I had my new(er) plow truck, I put 160 miles on it - and never left my driveway.
We haven't had a "good" winter up here since the late 70's. I remember having to get out of the car and checking for traffic at intersections, because the banks were over 8 feet tall. Ah, the good ole days.

(...Cue rant about "Northern" types in 3, 2, 1.....)

  15. I'll bet that 'Frozen' song was going in your head as you worked (Do you want to build a snowman - FUCK NO!) :^)

My condolences, we're waaaay down south of you where snow is a once in a 100 year occurence. Right now, its 48, cold and windy.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  16. Why are you shoveling snow when you have teenagers? Tell 'em it builds character and yours is already built.

I commiserate with you, I've shoveled innumerable quantities of snow which is why I now have a Kubota with a 48" blower.

  17. Y'all's geek cred would have been boosted if you'd reported 10.05 cubic smoots.

  18. Poor Angel. You need some warm adult beverages, a nice soaking hot bath, and an oiled full body rub down, and 4 hours later, a nice long sleep. Any other ideas?

  19. You're in Texas, you should have a pear burner somewhere on the farm.

Play nice. None of you are too old for a spanking.
