There were a few days this winter I didn't think I was going to be able to get into my mail jeep. No seals in the doors, like a real vehicle. Snow would melt into those crevices then freeze solid. Took some kicking and hammering.
Happened to me twice. No snow or ice involved. 1982 Toyota celica. First the right handle pulled off in my hand. A few weeks later it was the left one.

ReplyDeleteThat is why they sell 120v car heaters. I run the cord through the steering wheel so I don't drive off with the damned thing plugged in.
ReplyDeleteAlternatively, you can have a remote start system installed in the car and remember to set the controls to full defrost when you park it.
Either method will save carrying pots of boiling water out to the car to gain entry.
