Got my wife a Mercedes C230 Kompressor. Now She's afraid to drive it. I gotta blow the carbon out of it once in awhile. I did that a lot in March and April when I had to drive 55 miles one way every day to radiation treatments. 4200 miles. Three hours round trip every day for 39 trips. The cops didn't catch me. Ha Ha!
Janis was a candle in the wind. Another of the "27" club. Jimi, Kurt, Jim, etc.
I liked her singing but she sure wasn't much to look at.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, a 95hp tarted-up VW or a 150hp Mercedes 280SL Pagoda? I'd want to trade up to the MB too.
ReplyDeleteHer best singing was early in her career before the heavy drinking damaged her vocal cords, IMHO

Janis' voice is the sound of music dying. Her "music" was shit.

I was a lousy hippie. Couldn't listen to her OR the Dead when I was a kid. Nails on a chalkboard...

Don't let wirecutter hear you dissing the Dead.
ReplyDeleteI was born in 1966, so I was a pretty lousy hippy, too.
I had an 8 o'clock bedtime. Ruined a lot of concerts.
Early Dead +++. Took some gettin' used to.
ReplyDeleteA Grate American band.
Not sure what happened there /\
ReplyDelete(Just got back from Happy Hour...)
I didn't think Dead Heads ever left happy hour.
ReplyDeleteOh, sure... push the old guy down memory lane...
ReplyDeleteI think Kris Kristofferson liked some of the "music" she made.....
