IMHO, The Donald did not "insult" Megyn Kelley, he made a statement, pure and simple.
Megyn Kelley has been cruising on the fact that she is a pretty blonde and is not used to being held to the same standards as "regular" people. If you want to play with the big boys, you need to prove you are tough enough; if she is too delicate, she needs to find another job.
Trump has been offering more fun and humor in this political silly season than ANY candidate ever!

I think Trump is kind of like the Republican side's Bernie Sanders. Slightly looney, plenty of lip service with no meat or actual solutions.
