See? Not so bad, is it?

After seeing this, I feel like a big old baby for sniveling. I really thought I had a 2-inch incision, gaping wound and miles of gauze packing. What I had was a scalpel-width puncture (granted it's deep) and about 8 inches of this little tape-looking shit.  I'm still oozing, but the bleeding is stopped, so I have that going for me. If y'all were planning my eulogies, better hold off for a while. Looks like I'm gonna pull through just fine.

  1. That still looks angry. Better pack it with carbolic sauve to help draw out any infection and sterilize the wound. A shot of bourbon and a stick to bite and you'll be fine.

  4. I saw that the churgeon bled you, as is told in the old treatises. Hopefully, with a good wormwood poultice and an effacious amulet you will be just fine.

  10. Nothing wrong with all the jokes about this but you'd be amazed at how such a
'little thing' can easily kill people. Don't take this lightly. With the ABX
resistant bugs that are everywhere these days no infection is 'minor'. Your
best bet is to stay healthy and hydrated. I would presume you are on a course of
antibiotics but if things don't start looking better soon you may need to have the
wound drainage sent for a C&S to see what type of antibiotics the infection is
susceptible to and which ones it's resistant too. Cellulitis like this can easily
travel and you can end up with cardiomyopathy, encephalitis or a number of other
    nasty sequelae.

  11. I'm with Dan on this one. That looks like it could get nasty/nastier. So when was your last tetanus booster done?
    Take care...

  12. Sorry you have an owie. Deep wounds respond well to good old hydrogen peroxide, 3%, it boils out the wound and keeps the bottom of the injury dry. Not too painful either, mostly soothing and fizzy.
Speaking of fizzy, any liquid painkiller you prefer is prescribed as well.

  13. Follow Dan's advice.

Before you use Hydrogen Peroxide look up how and when to use or not use.

  14. Some good advice. However, since we are not all doctors, I think there should be front photos to verify it has not spread. LOL! Take care of yourself, Angle. Too few quipy Women out there to lose one.
