I have borrowed several books from the Wirecutter Library of Really Cool Shit, and you would not believe the things that man uses as bookmarks. I've found a money order receipt for Grateful Dead tickets, grocery receipts, gas receipts, pictures and his motorcycle learner's permit from when he was 18. It's like a sociologist's dream. (Or an archeologist's, just sayin'.)
HA!
ReplyDeleteI was at camp this weekend and was using a twig.
Appropriate because the book I was reading was about an
organic gardening family and their attempts to be self sufficient.
I prefer to use a square of tp. It's thin enough that it doesn't leave a mark in the book.

I use cash. Mostly 100 dollar bills. I've left instructions for the family not to get rid of any books until leafing through them for cash.
ReplyDeleteBefore I bought my Kindle, I's ALWAYS have a book with me. Usuaslly, on my lunch hour, the the straw wrapper became the book mark.
ReplyDeleteI usually use business cards. But I'm going to copy Anonymous' instructions for my kids...
ReplyDeleteI grab anything that's handy. If I can't find something important, I just go back to the pile o' books by my Camouflaged Bass Pro Easy Chair.
