I so wish I'd had access to something like this when the girls were younger. The Cute Chicks do NOT do malls. Talk about sensory overload and meltdown. Too much noise/people/movement/light. And then add a bunch of kids, and decorations and loud Christmas music and lights, it's just overwhelming for kids on the spectrum. TQ saw Santa once when she was three, just after she'd lost her words and connection, and the experience was traumatic, so much so that the sight of Santa would cause her to start shaking and whimpering. We never tried it with BQ, we knew better. But something like this would have been a real possibility.
I wish we knew the responsible person for this so I could write them and properly tell them how awesome they are. What a neat idea and what better way to show the true meaning of Christmas. Sharing God's love with EVERYONE.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post, Angel.
In our town the local fire chief dresses as Santa and the fire truck takes him to every house in town with kids and they can sit on his knee and mom and dad can take pics in the comfort of their own home with out the crowds or noise of a mall.

ReplyDeleteTell the Cute Chicks not to trip, I don't do malls either for pretty much the same reasons.
