Yep, The Supreme Court is now all but lost. And I weep for this country. "Found dead while on a hunting trip in Texas"?! What the holy fuck?! Anybody else want an autopsy?
(RNN) - Supreme Court Justice Anonin Scalia was found dead while on a hunting trip in Texas. He was 79.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott released a statement that said, in part, ""Justice Antonin Scalia was a man of God, a patriot, and an unwavering defender of the written Constitution and the Rule of Law."
Well, at least you're in Texas, which will probably end up as the independent Republic of Texas.
ReplyDeleteThe rest of us - pretty much screwed.
We are so screwed. Now Obummer gets to pack a commie in there.
ReplyDeleteGot any cheap places to rent around your neck of the woods, Angel?
ReplyDeleteThey were lost before this. It's not as if the ROL existed prior to his passing.
ReplyDeleteBesides, how would a GOP controlled Congress ever confirm an Obama appointee...?
We were fucked before, this just makes more real.
Exactly the same way they confirmed Holder and Lynch.

McConnell has already called for no appointment until after the elections, but Barry has already jumped on this and said he’ll appoint “in due time.” This is what we get when a bunch of conservatives get their panties in a snitch and refuse to vote for the candidate who is not quite their cup of tea. Stay home, fume and bitch, and let Barry get re-elected, then boom, he can appoint another constitution-optional justice. Thanks, asswipes.
ReplyDelete"want an autopsy".....if this was as hinted at a hit it would almost certainly involve .gov spooks. And in that case the odds of a PM finding the death a
ReplyDeletehomicide are microscopic. There are ways to cack a 79 year old that look totally
natural and unless the ME knows WHAT to look for the chances of finding it are
essentially zip. I don't KNOW that Scalia was wacked.....and I don't know that
he wasn't. I do know the odds of it being discovered if it did happen are akin
to winning the PowerBall.
I predict that this election will quickly become all about this issue. The right will hang onto this for all it is worth. The left will trot out the pro abortion, ban the gun, climate change nonsense, and how if a Republican is elected, he would appoint SCOTUS justices that would undo all of the fine, fine things that have made this country what we are, and blah, blah, blah.
ReplyDeleteJust another day at the office. RIP, Justice Scalia, may your replacement have a thick skin and a strong legal mind that doesn't try and make laws, just follows them.
Anyone familiar with the movie "The Pelican Brief"?
