  2. I hate it when I lose a bet (which is why I don't gamble). There was a time, back in the Pleistocene age, when I owned a pair of those pimp platforms. Ugly bastards, but in vogue at the time. Never wore them, as at 6'4" I would have been banging my head on every doorway and chandelier. And yeah, white don't match.

  4. Any and all evidence documenting my past lives were destroyed in the Great Fire of Hide the Evidence.

  5. I had some hippie rocker platform shoes in the early 70s, but, hey, they were "MANLY hippie rocker platform shoes".
... as massive embarrassment sets in...
My daughter gave me a hard enough time about my long hair - NO WAY she learns about the shoes.

  6. Oh yeah, I just remembered - in the 70s we heteros wore "stacks".
We didn't wear platform shoes, Elton John wore platform shoes.
I lost both my ankles to the damned things, under the influence of one chemical or another.
The 70s were crap, but they were light-years better than the 80s.

    2) I wore out so many pairs of Justin Ropers in the 70's... I had no idea there was anything else to wear but Ropers and Wranglers...
