Dogs are male/ useful but not too bright. Cats are female and very clever. Dogs have masters, cats have servants. I have owned both over the years and love them for their unique qualities.
"smart" is not always "useful"....a willing horse is much more useful than a smart horse.....a smart horse usually spends all his time and energy trying to get out of work ...give me a horse (dog or other domesticated beastie) whose HEART is way bigger than his brains....
Dogs can also do fractions. Don't try giving them a half cup of kibble instead of one cup.

ReplyDeleteHaven't seen any seeing-eye cats in my lifetime.
Or rescue cats.
Or drug-sniffing cats.
Or sled cats.
Or.....
You sort of have to be bright to be useful.
Cats are useless, lazy parasites.

Humans use the word 'intelligence'when referring to animals trainability, when they really mean 'obedience'.
