"Mutt" a "trench runner" Frenchie delivered cigarettes and gave his friendship to the soldiers. Dogs provided a psychological comfort, even if for just a moment. Mutt was wounded twice and spent most of World War One boosting moral of the 11th Engineers, shown here carrying cartons of cigarettes for the troops.
