Doesn't everybody already do this?

If there's meat in the freezer that didn't come from the store,
it has the kill date on it.

  1. I see they have a best before death, although I can't read the date.
Are they proposing that we chickens alive?

  2. I would love this idea. I'd also like to know the animal's name, date of birth, and state of origin. I don't want to end up buying some old worn out hen or cow whose meat is all tough and gamey and it was raised in Detroit or some other smog hell hole. I want my meat to taste goood.

And knowing the name of the animal would provide for some good conversation: "How's your fried Wilber chop?"

  6. October 3rd, 0930 pst. My daughter passed on this one, she was a little too nervous to shoot because she had never seen it done before (afterwards she kept talking about getting her own). So, I took her rifle (6.8SPCII) and shot it myself. I just wish she could have seen (and help) how to butcher it but since I had her for over a week and a half she had to get back to her mother's house.

And the answer to all of your questions is yes, as far as I know she is my kid, she just gets most of her looks from her mom.

  7. Absolutely, I would very much like that. For some things, like beef, it would be good to know how long it was hung.

This would also reduce general stupidity. Daughter of a friend never understood where "chicken" came from, never connected it to the animal. She just thought it was some magical food that came from the supermarket.

Then she visited a farm, saw some chickens, someone mentioned that a particularly fat one would probably taste good. SHOCK!

Play nice. None of you are too old for a spanking.
