Never mind

Wirecutter's back where he belongs.

Okay, Blogger, you're pissin' me off

Jesse in DC asked if I'd fired wirecutter from the blogroll, and I thought "WTF???" And then I went at looked. Sure as fuck, Knuckledraggin' isn't there. Knuckledraggin I is there at the bottom where it's been since wc moved to Phase II, but no link to his current site.

I ASSURE YOU I DID NOT DO THIS!!!

I immediately opened my blogroll tool thingy and both links were on the list, clear as day; but just in case, I deleted the old link and replaced it with a clean, fresh link. Clicked save, and.....

NO FUCKING LINK TO WIRECUTTER.

I have absolutely NO IDEA what is going on or how to fix it. Just like I can't figure out how to fix the stupid Captcha thingy. I have repeatedly clicked NO CAPTCHA in my options and it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. If there is anyone out there who is a Blogger master and willing to take a look, I would be very appreciative.

But in the meantime, I would like to reiterate:

WIRECUTTER, IT'S NOT MY FAULT! I DIDN'T DO IT! HAVE PITY, FAIRY BLOGFATHER!

But mind the teeth

This is why...

today's 20-somethings need "safe spaces" from "scary words"
and these kids kicked ass in World War II.

Since you probably can't read that, it's Dallas Public Library, circa 1900.
I'd venture closer to 1920, add 20 years and those kids are in their 30s kicking ass.

Maple Bacon Crusted Cheesecake

I have been reminded by several of you that I promise recipes in my blog header and that I've sadly fallen down on that job. Mea culpa, y'all, and to make up for it, I present you this:

I can hear the heavy breathing from here. I'd like to take credit for this one, I really would, but I can't. This comes from one of my favorite foodie blogs Oh Bite It, check them out. I'm going to give you the ingredients, but you'll have to click the link for the full recipe. And I know you will.

Ingredients:

  • 3 8-oz blocks of cream cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbs vanilla
  • Maple syrup for topping
  • 8 inch spring-form pan lined with parchment paper

Kilted to Kick Cancer kicks off

It's that time of year, boys and girls. But especially boys. You Y-chromosome bearing love monkeys, you know I'm talking to you.

What is KTKC, you may be asking, and why should I, a manly man, be concerned? And I'll tell you.

About 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. That means if it isn't you, chances are really good you know someone who will get it. It is the second leading cause of cancer death in American men behind lung cancer. Which is complete and utter bullshit. Why? Because it's one of the easiest cancers to detect early and treat. And with the money raised from KTKC that goes to education and research, that should be rapidly shrinking.

Men like our beloved holster-maker Dennis Badurina of Dragon Leatherworks has signed up again to wear a kilt for the month of September to raise awareness and funds. And on breezy days, maybe a few eyebrows. Last year, through the raffling off of several of his custom Valkyrie holsters and some efforts by myself and wirecutter (mostly wirecutter who offered to pose in a mini-skirt if Dennis won)

But this year, not only is Dennis raffling off his holsters, he's got some autographed by some very righteous dudes. Dean Cain (Superman), Larry Correia (best selling author), and badass Jesse James (custom bike and pistol builder). Awesome, right? Donate money, raise awareness of something that kills a lot of men and shouldn't, and maybe win a gorgeous custom Dragon holster signed by a star.

And here's how:

1) Go to the donation page by clicking here
2) Make the donation in multiples of $10
3) When you go through checkout, select Team Dragon from the drop-down list so that we get credited with bringing in your donation.
4) When you get the PayPal receipt in your email, simply forward that email to kilted@dlwtn.com so we can verify the amount donated, and that the donation was made to Team Dragon.
5) In the forwarded mail, let me know how to apply the donation (which holster, how to split up multiple entries, etc.)
6) We'll email you letting you know that your entries have been logged.

We'll draw the winning entries first week of October, after the fundraiser is done.

I will also have a direct button on the sidebar for your donating ease. Thank you for supporting this. Now, stop whining and go get your prostate checked.

It would be fun to know who gets it

Getting ready for the "Ber" months

I still feel like shit.
Sleeping most of the day and night,
handling mom duties during rare moments of consciousness.
Sorry for the lack of posts.
