Good, but what about Constitutional Carry?

Texas is getting there, but until they just say "Fuck it, 2nd Amendment is all you need, go forth and conquer," I won't give them A+.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Texas House approved a batch of bills Saturday to further soften gun laws that were already among the country's most firearms-friendly, allowing college students to carry handguns in class, putting potentially armed marshals in public schools and exempting the state from any future federal bans on assault rifles, high-capacity magazines or universal background checks.

I agree with you about the grade but thank goodness we aren't fighting off Connecticut or Colorado type new laws !

It is a slow process, made worse in my opinion by the biennial legislative session, the Senators and Reps aren't as dependent on voters as other states. Good thing and a bad thing at the same time.

We keep making positive progress though.

Those are bills that passed the House. I'd be surprised if they all passed the Senate. Especially the campus carry one. I'd be pleasantly surprised, but surprised.

Earlier this Spring, the Student Senate of WTAMU passed a Concealed Carry proposal allowing it on all WTAMU campuses. I wonder if State laws superceded individual college campuses like the National tries with States.

Its my understanding that colleges can opt in currently and allow carry by chl holders. TAMU did so last fall. If the new law passes then if a college wanted to opt out of allowing carry by chl holders they would have to do so annually.

But if the law allowing concealed carry DOESN'T pass, do the colleges still have the option to allow it?

I could be way off, but I thought the whole mandated gun free zone thing only applied to schools if they accepted federal money. Same thing with hospitals. I haven't researched this, but that was my understanding.
