Texas is taking baby steps

First, open carry and now concealed carry on public college campuses. We should just go ahead and pull the trigger (see what I did there?) on Constitutional Carry. But I'll still take baby steps over going backward.

AUSTIN, TEXAS (AP) -- The Texas Legislature has approved allowing residents with licenses to carry concealed handguns on public college campuses - but included a caveat that lets college presidents designate "gun-free zones."
The House voted 98-47 on Sunday to approve the measure, sending it to Gov. Greg Abbott to be signed into law.

Except the campus carry allows the Marxist cesspools to 'opt out'. Which they will, denying students and faculty their rights, and the whackadoodles that want to kill will do so. Texas has our own little John Boner, only ours allows Dems to have committee chairmanships. And of course, sides with the Prognazis on a lot of issues.

Wait until a shooting at a school that chose to opt out. Now THAT will be a show to watch!

Any school that opt's out should loose all state aid.

And find themselves bare-nekkid for civil and criminal liability for any damages / injuries / deaths as a result.

(And you can count on some college administrator saying "Yes, we'd really like to allow you kids to carry on campus but doggone it, our insurance underwriters just won't let us.")

Can you tell I'm getting tired of the "Put yourself under the microscope, pay the fees, get the training and we trust you here, here, and here, but not over there"??
