Charity and the Wise Patriot

THINK BEFORE YOU DONATE

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT BEFORE YOU MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS:
As you open your pockets to do a good thing and make yourself feel good, please keep the following facts in mind:
The American Red Cross

$1,200,000 per year (100k per month) plus all expenses including a ROLLS ROYCE.
Less than 5 cents of your donated dollar goes to the cause.

Goodwill is a very catchy name for his business.

You donate to his business and then he sells the items for PROFIT.
He pays nothing for his products and pays his workers minimum wage! Nice Guy
.
$0.00 goes to help anyone! Stop giving to this man.
Instead, give it to ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

Red, thanks for that one. I try to slip a few bucks to good charities, especially this time of the year, and almost decided to go Galt this season. Screw it. Your list of worthy charities is very welcome. Thanks.

Tom on Guntalk radio show did a Veterans Day show yesterday. Said he invited Wounded Wariers to be on. They refused. Reason: the show was about GUNS. Screw them. You have a good list of Veteran organizations. Go there.

I recall that the Red Cross did not give aid to the victims of 9/11 until pressured. UNICEF: UN. The UN is hopelessly corrupt (oil for food scandel, sex abuse scandels, failure to prevent the Rawandan Genocide). I cannot say I am surprised over Goodwill either.

Thanks for the list.

I have received this email before but never passed it on. I received it from my Brother from another Mother (my beloved Ex-Brother In-Law) on this "Veterans Day". He is a man I am proud to call my friend, regardless of my relationship with his sister. YES, we give each other a manly hug EVERYTIME we get the oportunity to be blessed in mutual company. Semper Fi, you ol' crotchity f**k, I will always consider it my pleasure to have known you. A prayer goes out to you and ALL who have sacrificed, May God always be on your side.

One more to add to the Do NOT list, the HSUS. Scam you into thinking that you are "helping the animals" and it's all BS.

WOW! Great Post Angel. I've always wondered about this... why I'm so reluctant to "give" to charities. Thank you for sharing :-)

How about the NCCAP, the national council of cranky ass people.

hiswiserangel said...

I'll donate to that if you'll donate to ROBOT.

Crap...guess I'll shift that donation to our local 40 et 8.

That reminds me, one pre-Thanksgiving, handing out turkeys/groceries, my very senior good friend Paul had this Mexican in line come to him. Paul asks "How many in your family?" Mexican says "Nine kids." Paul asks him "What's their names?" Mexican; uh wha da bla. He ended up with dinner for two LOL. God I love that ol timer...still sharp as a whip!
