Rest in Peace, Robin Williams

My very first crush and the man who convinced me that funny men were sexy as hell. They are also often deeply troubled. He'll be missed.

Yup. That's what I said.

Irony is when a man who brought as much laughter and happiness to the world as Robin Williams dies of depression.

Confess I'd never heard any of his work that wasn't intended for younger audiences.

Just damned sad.. And think about it, from Belushi on, the funny have been fucked up.

Although I have a day job, I'm also a musician. I'm also bipolar (manic-depressive). I've been saying for a long time that EVERYONE who performs music in public has some form of mental illness. And I mean EVERYONE, from the top performers on TV to the lowliest street buskers. The same goes for other folks such as actors and artists.

Now, while there is really no such thing as a "normal" human who is always rational, never has "issues," the musicians, etc, seem to have an extra helping of weirdness. I believe it is the curse that comes along with the ability we received that enabled us to play music, or act, or paint, etc.

Tragic that he felt alone in a world that so obviously loved him, I certainly did..
