It's possible because of lots and lots of welds and the fact that some people will wait in line and pay good money to have the crap scared out of them.
I wonder about the placement of the three drop tower rides in the centre. If I were on the roller coaster, as it plunged down and twisted 90degrees I would projectile vomit. The people waiting to board the drop rides would be in the barf landing zone.
I think that is why they invented acrobatic aircraft. Add 10,000 feet above the ground, and those manuvers seem more plausible to me. And aircraft generally get intense maintainence...
