Welcome to Springtime in Texas
In the last 48 hours, we've had a thunderstorm, hail, flooding rain, straightline winds in excess of 80 mph, snow, thundersnow, thundersnow with straightline winds, and sunshine and 60 degrees. We've lost power, cable, phone, and cell phone. "All circuits are busy, please try your call again." In the South, the Weather Channel IS entertainment, and nothing has come closer to the truth than this:
Actually, Oklahoma has all the cool Indian names for counties.
Potawatomi County, for instance.

And Dolph has a better bod
I've never liked Bill Nye, or that pompous jackass Neil DeGrasse Tyson (who is still short a couple of degrees matching Dolph plus he's just an astronomist.) Plus, neither of them has a black belt in karate.

Week #2 of Construction Clusterfuck
You know you've bonded with your iPhone when you type "cluster" and it automatically adds "fuck." It took an entire week to build a shower and lay ceramic tile in two smallish bathrooms; stayed home all day yesterday waiting for the crew that never showed up to finish. It's now 9:30 and still no one is here finishing the job. I have a partial shower and two old vanities in the master and an old cracked tub and no surround and a toilet in the hall bath. Thank God I haven't paid a dime to the contractor yet. We may settle on what's been done so far minus mileage for the four days I had to drive the chicks to Canyon so they could continue working after 2:30. Not that they got much accomplished.
I'm so tired, cranky and seriously redhead pissed.

And that's about how my week's going
I realized Saturday that I'd bitten off way more than I could chew,
so I dropped the second class. I can't describe the feeling of relief that swept over me.
I'm just on the second week of the first class and my eyes are glazed over.
We're having BOTH bathrooms completely redone this week.
All work has to be done while the Cute Chicks are in school.
Construction and Autism are not compatible.
I was just overwhelmed.
Now I'm simply whelmed.

The joy of childhood
I would have been the kid in the blue coat.

Yeah, well, y'all knew it would happen
I'm taking both. And there's more news in the works.
That's my favorite yoga position: Downward unconscious.

Okay, so this is my latest dilemma
I just ended the Grammar Class From Hell, and thought I had two weeks to recover before the next one started. Yay! But wait.... I got an email yesterday telling me I could access the class materials Sunday because the class has been moved up a week. yay.
I took this class because the class I originally wanted was full. Every time I've tried to take that damn class it's been full; I'm just not quick enough on the draw. So I signed up for the other class, paid the fee, and on the very small chance it might happen, signed the waiting list for the first class. Now, both of these classes are required; I'll have to take them both eventually. Keep that in mind; it's important to the story.
I received another email today informing me that the original class has an opening and I'm first on the list. It will still be starting on the 17th, am I still interested? So, here it is, the dilemma:
Class #1: Already enrolled, paid for, instructor is one I've had for two other classes, made As in both classes, he likes me and enjoys my quirky sense of humor. This would basically be a fluff class which I desperately need after the GCFH.
Class #2: Extremely hard to get in, unknown instructor, harder material, starts a week later.
Do I do the sensible thing and drop Class 1 and enroll in Class 2? Or do I do the Angel thing and stay in Class 1, enroll in Class 2, and do them both? The Nuclear Option. I either make it or it breaks me.

Exactly how I felt when I got my grade
I'm still shocked and ashamed that I couldn't identify
a past perfect participial gerund phrase used as an adverb.
Adult sippy cups
It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.
FYI, I made a 78 on the comprehensive final and an 84 for the final grade.
What I knew, I knew;
what I didn't (identify the phrase or clause, what type and it's function in the sentence),
I will probably never know.
And I'm just fine with that.
If you need me, I'll be in my secret lair with my sippy cup.
