Coming out as gay or having a sex change is the safest way in the world to get an award for courage.

Coming out as Christian is more dangerous.

Self mutilation indicates a mental problem and is not a courageous act.

A comment I saw today was to the effect that how can he be called courageous when he doesn't even have the guts to cut it off?

This guy came in runner up on dancing with the stars, and not because he can dance, but because of the pure courage, humility, and integrity he displayed during every performance. Guys a real freakin hero for sure.

This pretty much says all we need to know about society in America.

There are different types of courage. They both fit the bill. I think I saw that guy run past me during he Spartan Race yesterday.

True, there's the kind of personal courage that only affects your life. And there is courage that affects the lives of others. Coming out as gay or transsexual is a very private personal courage. Placing your life before others, placing your life in danger to save the lives of others, is a broader act of courage. I'm not saying Jenner wasn't courageous in living the life he/she wants, I'm just saying compared to that of a soldier's, it pales in comparison and is only globally important in advancing the LGBTQ agenda.
