I'm not a smart woman. I'm functionally computer illiterate. I know enough to run this blog, and if you ask me how I do it, I probably couldn't explain it without crayons and sock puppets. To tell you the truth, everything I know I learned from wirecutter. Yeah, it's that bad.
I've been tasked with saving a youtube video to a usb drive by tomorrow morning. I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. I've looked up several youtube videos on HOW to save a youtube video to usb, but every intermediary site recommended is kiboshed by McAfee as being DANGEROUS!!!!! Well shit, I don't know if McAfee is being a nervous Nellie, or if all these things are designed to infiltrate my laptop with gay midget porn. So, if there is anybody out there who can help me, please speak up!
In the meantime, I'll keep trying different things.

If you run Firefox, install this add-on and you can download the video to your computer or usb drive

I use the Flash Video Downloader add-on for Firefox. You play the video, then click the blue arrow to the right of the address bar (where the add-on places it by default) and a dropd-own menu comes up, offering a variety of formats and resolutions.
You can then go to the default download folder (usually C:\Username\Downloads) and find the file. The name will usually end with these file extensions:
.flv
.mp4
.3gp
.webm
Copy-paste the file to your USB drive's directory or drag it over the USB drive's letter.
youtube video downloader ,save it to your desktop and drag it on to your stick.
I use youtube-downloader on Linux. If you e-mail me a link, I can download and convert it, then send you a link to download it. @heyaaron.com

b) Use ClipGrab (http://clipgrab.org/). It's painless, virii free (every time I've checked, anyway), and doesn't sit in yer browser watching what you watch.
Type ss before youtube (ex: www.ssyoutube.com) in the URL of the youtube video, then hit "enter". That will take you to Savefrom.net, where you'll see a download button you can click on to download the video to your computer. After that you just drag the file from your computer to your flash drive.
So why he phobia of having midget porn downloaded along with your intended video? Or is it hscing it downloaded twice that's the fear?
I think I see the problem. It isn't the idea of midget porn, per se, it is the possibility of having to pay money for it.
I suggest that a much easier way for everyone to get answers to all of their computer related questions from now on is to simply file a FOIA with the FBI, about what ever the appropriate case that they happen to be working on at the time may be that lines up with your issue, and just follow along with the written directions. The same ones that they were going to just use that one time, and then toss away.
I am guessing that they will have a backlog develop and have to hire more staff, which will actually result in faster lead times, so it is a perfect use of our unemployed special snowflake wizkids. As long as the feds promise they can look at any porn they find on the computers, and don't have to look at pictures of scary guns, it will be a perfect solution.
I feel like someone should thank me, but I will just be happy to hide in a corner quietly.
