No, wait! This is redneckier!

That is the redneckiest thing I've ever seen

A message from Miss Lisa

I got to talk to her today, we had each other laughing like fools, and then wirecutter got on the phone and said, "We are NOT stopping in Amarillo on the way through..." Yeah, like that's gonna happen.

Looks like she's in good spirits and ready to get sprung from the hospital.

Speedy recovery, Miss Lisa! Love ya, girl!

I miss Clovis City Limits and Boot Hill

Back in my wild and wooly days, Friday and Saturday nights were spent at either Boot Hill, small and disreputable, or Clovis City Limits, racetrack dance floor. The country hits of the day, and I was struggling to adapt. I was always a rocker, closest I came to country music was Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Eagles. But I could dance. Damn skippy. I loved two-step, country waltz, and the occasional jitterbug if I could find a partner. I haven't been dancing in 20+ years, unless you count the occasional rug-cutting in the living room if I can get one of the Cute Chicks to dance with me. Mostly they roll their eyes and run. Don't know what set that off, but this came to mind when I considered shooting the TV during Obummer's press conference.

And don't listen to that idiot.
It was Mark Chestnut, not Joe Diffie.

For Miss Lisa

Just a little Valentine to let you know how much I love you and value your friendship. HUGS!!!!

Meet Poppy, and the other ROMEOS

Poppy's the handsome dude on the far Right.

The local newspaper did a little special story on the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out), Poppy's one of the regulars. I thought I'd share this with y'all.

"Listening to the group of coffee drinkers, who meet at McDonald’s most mornings, is like watching a Chinese ping-pong match; it’s hard to keep up with the back-and-forth banter between members.
The group calls themselves the ROMEOs (retired old men eating out), although they do have one female. They call their group “fluid” with members changing over the years, but they do have some members who are regulars. This group includes: Willie Johnson, 91; George Papach, 90; Bill Chumbley, 80; Don Watson, 71, and his wife, Jan, 67; Dan Hall; Gary Peterson; John Fox; Larry Morgan and Chris Hoyt."

Full story HERE

She practically glowed.

Very big shoes to fill
