But the dark nights alone still suck.

I could tell you you get used to the sleeping alone thing, but I've always had a loner streak in me. I'd already been moving toward opting out several years ago, wound up with a gf up your way, broke up over five years ago. Went on a couple of dates after that, and said screw it. Been five years since I've even bothered. But I got off the debt merry go round, something to be said for it!

No that night alone is the best lesson of all. Because there will come a night when you are all alone without support, without friends, without anywhere to turn. Soaked to the skin by cold rain , with sleet starting. Hopeless, helpless, wet and starving, with nothing and no one to call to. That's the night you find out who you are . If you can dig in and fight when everything is stripped away you will never fear the night, or anything else. You will never need another to validate you or make you feel safe. You will be free.

Yeah, you get used to being alone... It's been over 5 years since the gook slut made a mess of me. Social media has made the dating thing even much more difficult. It's not that I don't want to be in a relationship, or find myself a lil' lady... It's just my life is so much easier just being alone...

But yeah, the nights and weekends alone still do suck...!

"Being alone" and "being lonely" are not necessarily coincident.

The biggest change of being alone is becoming responsible for EVERYTHING.

When everything goes to hell, there is only one person in the entire universe you can count on.
Yourself!
