I was in a Staples store once, and the sign on one set of cabinets in the custom printing area read something similar to "Self Service Supplies - Please ask for assistance." It was a horrible temptation, but I was in a hurry, and I was with a customer (executive type) that didn't seem to have a sense of humor. Plus I had doubts as to whether the employees there were truly aware of the cognitive dissonance. Because none of their heads showed explosion trauma.

subtle reminder that we can't even do self help by ourselves...on the line of "no person is an island" (but, some are damn sure peninsulas..)
