Autism and the Amish, hugs to Chief Nose Wetter

http://itaintholywater.blogspot.com/2013/08/autism-amish.html

Chief Nose Wetter, It Ain't Holy Water, posted this yesterday. Since starting my blog almost a year ago, and talking about the cute chicks and their struggles with Autism, I have had so many lovely positive encounters with you guys. You're smart, caring, and you ask really good questions. You repost my stories about Autism, you post some you find, you send me others. You are a huge link in the chain of knowledge; and you spreading the word, asking the questions, is such a wonderful support to me and the Autism community as a whole.

Decades ago, we were told "Cigarettes don't cause lung cancer; if they did, then every smoker would get lung cancer." And we kept smoking. And we kept dying. Until someone finally pushed for the truth to come out, mostly the medical community who cashed in on anti-smoking treatments when not cashing in on cancer treatments. Someone is always going to benefit.

Now we have Big Pharma telling us, "Oh no no no, you whackadoos, vaccines don't cause Autism, because if it did, every child who got vaccinated would be Autistic." See the similarity in reasoning? As with smoking, it's not JUST the vaccine; it's environmental, genetic, a cocktail of vaccines delivered to babies before their immune systems are fully set.  There are studies linking acetaminophen toxicity (what was the first thing the doctor's told you to do when getting your kids vaccinated? Give them Tylenol for the soreness and fever) to higher cases of Autism. It could be that we need to find the genetic factor, test babies for it (hey if we can detect Down's Syndrome in utero, we can find a way to detect Autism) and allow the parents to decide whether or not to vaccinate. It could be that we need to delay vaccinations until at the very least after two years of age, when most Autism cases are detected. But the practice of giving our infants 36 vaccines by the age of 5, double that of the rest of "developed" countries, needs to be addressed and changed. (http://www.rescuepost.com/files/gr-autism_and_vaccines_world_special_report1.pdf)

The truth is we don't know the truth. Yet. So, to abandon the very very real possibility that vaccines are a major contributing factor because doctors and Big Pharma (both of whom benefit financially from vaccines) calls us irrational whackadoos and tries to silence us with scorn, is in my humble opinion the height of cowardice and irresponsibility. I will NOT be silenced and I will NOT stop searching for the truth.

Cute and clueless, that's how I roll

Well, that hurts

At least American women don't sound
like a bunch of squeaky anime bitches.

Your daily LEO gone wild

The last five (5?! dammit) of these stories have come from Texas. Son of a mother-loving bitch, what the fuck?

The most chilling line: "She said the police didn't produce a warrant until two hours after the raid began, and officers shielded their name tags so they couldn't be identified. According to ABC affiliate WFAA, resident Quinn Eaker was the only person arrested -- for outstanding traffic violations." Hid their freaking nametags? Oh hell no. Read the whole damn thing.

We're hearing more and more of this sort of thing - the militarization of our police forces. This raid was truly bizarre:
Members of the local police raiding party had a search warrant for marijuana plants, which they failed to find at the Garden of Eden farm. But farm owners and residents who live on the property told a Dallas-Ft. Worth NBC station that the real reason for the law enforcement exercise appears to have been code enforcement. The police seized "17 blackberry bushes, 15 okra plants, 14 tomatillo plants ... native grasses and sunflowers," after holding residents inside at gunpoint for at least a half-hour, property owner Shellie Smith said in a statement. The raid lasted about 10 hours, she said.
Local authorities had cited the Garden of Eden in recent weeks for code violations, including "grass that was too tall, bushes growing too close to the street, a couch and piano in the yard, chopped wood that was not properly stacked, a piece of siding that was missing from the side of the house, and generally unclean premises," Smith's statement said. She said the police didn't produce a warrant until two hours after the raid began, and officers shielded their name tags so they couldn't be identified. According to ABC affiliate WFAA, resident Quinn Eaker was the only person arrested -- for outstanding traffic violations.

A Frisky Fish Tail

Four guys have been going to the same fishing trip for many years.
Two days before the group is to leave, Sam's wife puts her foot down and tells him he isn't going.
Sam's fishing mates are very upset that he can't go, but what can they do?

Two days later, the three get to the camping site to find Sam sitting there with a tent set up,
Firewood gathered, dinner cooking on the fire, and having a cold beer.

"Crap Sam, how long you been here, and how did you talk your missus into letting you go?"

“Well, I've been here since last night.
Yesterday evening, I was sitting in my living room chair and my wife came up behind me
and put her hands over my eyes and asked, ‘Guess who?’"
I  pulled her hands off, and there she was, wearing a sheer nightie.
She took my hand and pulled me into our bedroom.
The room had candles and rose petals all over.

Well, she's been reading that book, “50 Shades of Gray.”
On the bed, she had handcuffs and ropes!
She told me to tie her up and cuff her to the bed, so I did.
And then she said, "Do whatever you want."

So, Here I am!

The good old days

This reminds me of several of y'all. Not naming names.

Yeah, that covers it

I spent six hours today with our family lawyer trying to figure out this mess with Obamacare placing restrictions on parents having custodial guardianship AND being the primary caregiver to a disabled child. No one should have to spend six hours with a lawyer. No one should have to spend six hours studying one 300+ page section of the most unconstitutional pile of steaming shit ever to come out of DC. So spending 6 hours with a lawyer sifting through Obamacare looking for a miracle has left me shell-shocked, twitchy and a bit crazed. I took the chicklets to the Lake pool for an afternoon of sun and water and laughter. Fuck Obama.

"Battered Race Syndrome"

Daily Prepper Tip: How to Dehydrate and Store Potatoes

If y'all are like me, you absolutely HATE potato flakes you get in the store. I have tried just about every brand, tried every trick in my culinary book to make them taste like anything other than wallpaper paste. I tried this last weekend, quick easy, and I used some last night to make mashed potatoes. Guess what, folks, they tasted like MASHED POTATOES!!!!!

I know the pic has the spuds in a canning jar and we all know that's not realistic. I used my vacuum sealer for the flakes, and did a bit with the slices. Kind of crushed the slices a little, I'll be playing with that some.
