I'm not a fan of "reality shows",(I despise them actually)but when I had cable I did enjoy catching his show on occasion. I also have a couple video talks he gave at Google I believe. In a world of posers and wanna Be's, he seems real to me.
As for my (Adoptive) father, I owe him more than I can ever repay.

Good article. Never was a big fan of "reality" shows, either (seriously...get a bunch of "normal" people in front of a bunch of cameras, and there's not ONE SINGLE BOTCHED LINE? Especially with someone like Chumlee or those Jersey douchebags? One grows suspicious...). But the few shows I was coerced into watching with the wife in which Mike Rowe was featured, I actually got to like the guy. You can act a part, but you can't act character. And he's got character.
Mike Rowe started out as a opera singer in Baltimore.
