So for y'all non-Texans, the North Texas area is NOT the northernmost part of the state. That would be us in the Panhandle, but for some odd reason, people still refer to the DFW part of the state as NORTH. Those pussies couldn't handle TRUE northern Texas.

Hey watch that shit Ms.West Oklahoma.
"Ms. West Okla-fucking-homa"?! You just earned yourself a trip to the Naughty Corner, mister.
You started it
You're working your way to a smart bottom there, srv.
Looks like DC to me...
Heh, DC just can't handle a weather crisis, huh Jesse?
DC can't handle any crisis.
At least West Oklahoma isn't as bad as Baja Oklahoma.

I went through the Texas panhandle back in January of '87. You folks do know what a real winter looks like. DFW, are they kidding?
Our family was born in Michigan, raised in Wisconsin. My brother retired out of the Air Force via Fort Hood(joined the AF to be in the Army!). He now drives a fuel truck in Texas. The tales he tells of Texans driving in rain, let alone snow.
25 snowflakes in DC causes total gridlock, schools closes, .Gov closes, its fricken hilarious. I sometimes drive around just to watch BMW and Mercedes owners abandon their cars...EEEEK!!!
Being a former Maryland resident Jess in DC's comment forces me to re-evaluate my retirement strategy. Note to self, find out if sheriff's titles are issued in DC, if so move back out there and open a high end used car dealership, collect abandoned Beemers and Mercs during the winter, minimal investment... maximum return....
So the northernmost part of Texas is not called North Texas? Who thought that up, someone at the Ministry of Truth?
Unless you have two sets of wheels for your car or truck, one with fancy aluminum rims and summer tires and the second with steel rims and dedicated M+S rated snow tires (Hakkapelitas rule!) you don't really know winter driving.
From my R40 insulated house in the Great White North, current temperature 9F and falling.

Oh, well, that makes our current temp of 12F seem positively balmy. No snow, I think the flakes all chickened out.
Try Arizona. People can't drive here on a sunny day....ok, mostly due to the melting of the asphalt, but I digress. Hell, Snotsdale had snow last year and suffered a near apocalyptic shutdown. A few drops of rain, temps below 60 degrees, any hint of dust, and everyone hits the brakes.
It must've been those folks down in Austin...they can't locate Amarillo on a map, you know...always explaining that one myself...grew up near Skellytown (find that one!)...
Dude! I totally know where Skellytown is! And Miami, Canadian, White Deer! Just a hop, skip and a jump from here.
yep, 2 and a half sets of mounted tires for my truck. it has warmed up to minus 20C (-4F for you Texans) from the minus 30 with a windchill of minus 42 a day or so ago. at least here isn SK we didn't get the snow and freezing rain!
One time I spent 4 hours driving from Dumas to Amarillo. Panhandle weather can really suck. DFW isn't north Texas. Wichita Falls to Amarillo along 287 is North Texas.
Yeah, the north Texas thing is stupid but we didn't get snow this week, it was sleet. The roads were covered in ice. Snow is a lot easier to handle.
BTW, I posted something I think you'll like.
