Actually depends on the horse. My Grandfather had one you could shoot a deer rifle off of, and it would barely flinch. Others were as skittish as a cat on crack!
When I was 16 I use to bet unsuspecting friends that I could stand on the saddle of my horse and shoot a 30-30 twice. Never lost a bet. Gun breaking a horse is possible with SOME horse's. Never trust an arab pony to do this.

Yep, taking bets when that horse bolts, will the little lady hit that fence or not . . .
