Anybody got a spare guillotine?

I've had a 3-day migraine. My meds manage to dull it enough to function. but I'm spending a huge amount of time in a dark room whimpering. Right now I'm riding a wave of Imitrex and booze and feeling passably decent. But the auras and sparklies are still quite entertaining. If it's not any better by tomorrow, I'll break down and go see the doctor.

My sister found an old fashion hood style hair dryer was very effective in fighting migraines.
We think it was a combination of the warm air circulating around her head that dilated her blood vessels as well as the nice 60Hz hum from the fan.

NO guillotines available. Just piss off a moderate muslime and you will get the same result.
Now dig out the crayons and draw a picture of mohamhead eating a pork bbq samich.

My daughter-in-law keeps saying she has a "migraine" headache yet she goes about her daily business as if there were nothing wrong. I told the hubs that if she had a migraine, she would not be able to drive all over the city, that anyone who actually had experienced a migraine shudders at the very mention of the word. I told DIL she should see a neurologist if she had so many "migraine" headaches.

My conclusion: she's an attention whore.

Bobo, by "function", I mean I can manage to keep the Cute Chicks fed and find them rides to and from school. I thought I had it licked Monday night, but 3 hours with Mom and Poppy in Gander's brought it roaring back. I managed to make it home, only stopping twice to puke on the side of the road. I agree, if she's flitting around town, she doesn't have a migraine. But I can testify you can gut it up and take care of business when you need too. No attention seeking.

Angel, my wife has been getting botox injections in her scalp every 3 months for several years to help with migraines. It works. FDA approved for migraines, if your insurance covers it I would highly recommend it.

Migraines hit everyone differently. My SiL gets injections to prevent them. Don't remember what they cost, but she said it is a wash vs the pay she used to lose. The benefit is no days of hell where trips to the bathroom are next to impossible.
My youngest son gets them fairly often. He is able To work through them but barely.

Dunno if my headaches would classify as migraines or just OMFGThisFrikkinHurts headaches, but I found that switching to a memory foam pillow (not the $40 one you can buy at Target...get a good one) and going cold-turkey on the diet sodas (and any other beverages that contain aspertaime) got rid of the daily hurts-to-open-my-eyes-but-have-to-do-it-anyway pain. Three or four Excedrin Migraines usually take care of the ones I still get occasionally.

@Angel, I realize there are those who can "function" with gut-wrenching pain. My point is that DIL blithely flits about with what might be a genuine headache but she calls everything a "migraine"; where anyone who has ever suffered from a migraine just wants to puke at the very thought of one.

I used to get migraines but my body sorted that out after having a kid. Yeah, I know those days of lying in bed in a darkened room, swearing that the sound of marshmallows hitting a cup of hot chocolate was too loud.

Hope you feel better real soon - I wouldn't wish a migraine on anyone ... well, maybe my mother-in-law.
