well, for part of that you have the channel of the Rio Grande....may have to make liberal applications of explosives on the upper parts, but damn well worth it.....

Mexico can have California in my book.

That would probably shut off the Gulf Stream current and freeze Britain and the EU, on second thought...
...go ahead.

Use illegal aliens we catch in the US to dig the canal. One year of digging the first time, 5 years of digging the second time (doubt they come back for more). Food, water, and shelter provided, but not money to send to Mexico to tax. So in the end, Mexico pays for the canal/wall.

Can't we just stock the Rio Grande with piranha and alligators and call it good ?

Mexico is going ballistic over the wall. They had no problem with illegals aliens attacking U.S. citizens going to Trump rallies, with police looking the other way of course, then worry that Trump has it in for Mexico. Now they are threatening to send Mexican drug cartels to commit violence here (which I guess infers the drug cartels are under control of the Mexican government).

Before you start, please go read THE PATH BETWEEN THE SEAS (on the Panama Canal); it ain't gonna be that easy. Also, the Eco-Nuts would go epically mental at the prospect of connecting the two oceans, and for once I'm not sure they would be wrong.

I have a far more practical suggestion; annex Mexico, and turn it over the the idiots currently misgoverning New Jersey, thereby improving the governance in both places.

Why not just shove all the Mexicans and such south until they are on the other side of the panama canal and Occupy the vacant land outselves? That solves all kinds of problems and no I don't give a shit if they wont go voluntarily.

Continental divide passes through Columbus NM on the Mexican border at 4068 ft above sea level. The canal would either be at the bottom of something way deeper than the Grand Canyon, or inside a monster tunnel.

How about a high speed freight rail line? Unload your boat in San Diego, and the automated train runs to Brownsville TX at 150 mph without stopping for anything or anyone. 2 tracks, look both ways before crossing.
