I cancelled my dish 4 years ago. I have 12 local channels, 4 of them are Spanish. One of the Spanish channels is actually Hispanic PBS. Elmo en Espanol. I have very few shows I watch. I absolutely refuse to watch network news, I'll watch the locals because, well, it's funny. I have Netflix to keep up with quality entertainment like Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead and Say Yes to the Dress. Don't judge me, I'm a girl, dammit.
But I have never given one second of my life to Honey Boo-boo and her clan. Their time is up, someone please show them the door.

I don't have cable either. I do the Roku box thingy. So what the Hell is a Honey Boo Boo? Sounds like a social disease to me. Or a Hookers party favor. Reality Shows make me want to puke. Always have ever since the very 1st Survivor started ruining prime time with even more useless dribble.
I gave up on TV when American Idle started playing. Reality TV used to be good when it was just the occasional short-run show like "The Great Race" or "Adventure Race" (whatever that one was, back in the mid-90's) before "reality" became "scripted". I used to watch the occasional "American Pickers", "Storage Wars" (California and Texas editions) and "Pawn Stars" simply for the history, but those were obviously scripted, too...but always fun to see what was turned up. Wife and I have thought about a Roku box, but right now everything we care to see is on Netflix.
With you all the way on this one, and then further again.... We have not watched television of any sort now for over three years, and do not miss it at all.
An added bonus for us now is that we no longer pay the £120 per year TV tax, otherwise known as the "TV Licence" here in the UK.
We have DVDs of films & good documentaries (no commercials!!! :-), and the TV is now a 32" monitor in the family room - with a few advert & pop-up blockers switched on of course...
One or two friends have also kept their distance since I firmly described TV as "fertiliser for vegetables..." - of course this may be because I did not use that sanitised version of that phrase at the time.....

I have not physically turned on my TV for over 3 years except to view my security cameras. Miss Lisa does the TV watching in this house and because she doesn't work outside the home I do not begrudge her watching her "Housewives" or "Dr. Phil" one bit.
However, she is considerate enough to turn the TV off when I'm home.
I hate writing that check every month. They don't call it TV programming for nothing. Disgusting to see Honey Boo Boo sexualize young children. Check out Henry Makow's website, you might enjoy the reading. Feminism and TV ruined traditional America. Tune out!
That is seriously one of the ugliest little girls I've ever seen, from the inside out. Her parents need to be horsewhipped.
All we watch is kids' programming on PBS, preschool programming on Nick Jr when it's on regular Nickleodeon, and the Disney Jr programs on Disney. Oh, and Tom & Jerry. And Dragons: Riders of Berk.
I've heard of Honey Boo Boo, but never laid eyes on her before now (I presume that's her on the right in the pic above?). My TV is useful only so SWMBO can drive the AppleTV to play her music, and I'd rather listen to music or read a book - I have a pile beside the bed to work through, and even more on kindle - than watch TV. Several years ago I also found that I sleep much better if I don't watch TV in the evenings. Weird, I know.
While channel surfing one day, SW ran across that stupidity that is Honey Boo Boo. About 15 minutes of that and I was ready to draw and fire at that shit. It scares me to think of the intelligence level of he people that watch that crap. Lately, we have been watching The Dome. I've always been a SK fan.
No TV for us either since we moved to rural Wyoming - never regretted it.
