I've seen this photo before and remember the caption. The owl didn't walk away, it flew away. The tracks from the top were left by a rabbit which became owl food. Al_in_Ottawa
That is quite amazing how different my assumption of what happened in the pic is from what Al's explanation is! Something so obvious being wrong.
Yeah, every time I see that pic, I have to wonder what type of bird it was that didn't have claws...
