Aside from not trusting most people, I am a pessimist. I always look for the things that can go wrong. Some have argued with me that I should instead be an optimist (and trusting) as it is healthy, pleasant and that it will help me to be happy and live longer.
I argue that being a pessimist keeps me on my toes and always ready for the worst.
In the end, I feel that being a pessimist, as well as not trusting most people, keeps me prepared and THAT, I would counter-argue, will make me live longer.
Maybe the choice is this. Do I want to take the risk of a heart attack/stroke that people claim pessimism and lack of trust can cause,or from being stabbed in the back by those people and/or things that I thought I could trust?!
I don't know the woman you are nor the woman you were. I've only read your blog here recently and I'd say you're pretty damn good the way you are.
I get the sense that you don't hear that a lot aside from this blog but you go ahead and miss whatever part of you that you believe you've lost.
I'd venture a guess that you're only replacing parts of yourself that you no longer need, with parts that are more useful to your plans of building the Angel that you desire.

Yup, I'm ok with my decision.
You sound like the Fox Mulder of Texas. Well, you're the fox part anyway..............
Trust is earned, not given.

Brian,
That's about the sweetest thing anyone's said to me in a while. Thank you. Made my day. :-D
