The cup is full.

Half with water. Half with air.

Sorry for ruin your pedantic diction with my use of physical laws.

Newrebel beat me to it. On the other hand, half full of "what"?

...meaning, the original statement doesn't specify as to what is being refered (sp?) to. Not in the greatest of moods today...sorry. I have the "can't find a job, and the wife is mad" blues.

to quate my son when he was 5 years old...."you have twice as much glass as you need"

If the glass is full, it needs to be emptied. If it is empty, it needs to be filled. Screw this halfway crap. In the words of the immortal Hank Thompson "I've got time for one more round, and a six pack to go" (that's an ear worm for us old Texans). Bottoms up!

As one with an engineering mind would say, "The glass isn't half-full or half-empty, it is twice as large as it needs to be."
