Rants, Raves and Recipes from the Edge of Sanity
I can relate, I have several different types of scissors, shears and snips in my various toolboxes. All of them have a specific purpose and some of those fuckers are expensive.
Yet I have been with a woman that used a micrometer as a fucking glue clamp.
Tools, either you "get " them, or you don't Never ever screw around with other peoples tools.
You're gonna use the Fiskars for the stabby part, amiright?
Grew up with a beautician mom. Learned early not to use her hair scissors on anything other than hair. Almost forty years later and the bruises may still be visible. I'm pretty sure a pair of Ghinger tailors shears would make short work of anyone!
Are you this protective of your pinking shears?
I've seen micrometers used for welding clamps!
Married to a licensed cosmetologist for 25 years. When her scissors got dull early on I said "let's just replace them" She laughed and and showed me that the cost on those things was around $400. We sent them out to get them sharpened and overhauled by a pro for around $50. I'm a knife and gun collector, licensed aircraft mechanic and degreed engineer and I take care of my own equipment but this was worth it. I Have not paid for a haircut in 25 years and she has taught be the basic of haircuts as an added bonus. Happy Wife, Happy Life!
I once caught my ex-husband using my Ginger shears to cut vinyl floor tile. That's why he is my EX-husband.
