Two samurai were drinking when one said to the other "If you were taller you might be worth something" his drinking companion was herd to respond "If I cut off your head and stand on it I'll be taller". It doesn't matter if you are the warrior , the gardener or the cook. As long as you are the one standing on the other guys severed head when the fights over.---Ray
A few years ago, I visited a traditional Japanese Saki factory that belonged to an old Samurai family. The family business was over 500 years old. 500!.
The Lord and Master had his own room where he sat "holding court" as it were. On his left the room was wide open to a manicured garden. It was both wild and natural looking while being perfectly maintained by the household staff. To call it beautiful, or a work of art cannot do it justice. To sit and look at the garden was to know beauty and peace.
The Japanese are crazy bastards, but their sense of beauty is almost unparallelled.
