Tractor Tire Pond

A while ago, I went and picked up a bunch of used stock tanks that I'm using as raised planters in the greenhouse (so much easier on the back and knees). One rancher threw in a couple of used tractor tires which were going to hold cantaloupe plants, but I think this might be a better option. Bury one, stack one, make a little waterfall. Ooooo, the little redheaded brain is firing...

Mmmm....catfish. La Hacienda Ranch (texmex-steak joint here in Texas) has some of the best grilled catfish of any restaurant I've ever had, but my standards for catfish are pretty darn high. You just can't beat yanked-out-of-the-river-an-hour-ago-skinned-filleted-grilled-over-an-open-fire-with-butter-and-lemon. Sorry. You just can't.

I love water features in the garden. Even had a couple of Koi ponds. I could never keep the algae from becoming a problem though.
