I'm a Texan, I'll spout Texas Pride all the live long day. But when you see another state break from the pack and do what's right for it's people's lives and prosperity, you have to give credit where credit is due.
Since 2006, Alberta's unemployment rate has significantly underperformed with regard to the Canadian national trend. On the other hand, North Dakota -- in particular -- and Texas have both performed much better than the overall federal trend.
North Dakota has seen an exceptional rate of growth in real per capita GDP, personal income, and personal disposable income when compared to the national trend. Real per capita GDP growth in Texas was above the national trend, but its per capita income growth has been not significantly different from the national trend.
