Technology hates me, redux

Took my laptop to Bubba the Computer guru to see what he could find. He called me over yesterday afternoon to show me two programs that he couldn't identify, couldn't trace and couldn't remove. He was trying to trace back to the date of infestation when the screen went blue and he went "Oops." You don't want to hear "oops" from a Computer Guru. So that was my introduction to the Blue Screen of Death. The whole hard drive fried in seconds. Fortunately I have the Oops Free warranty, and he packed it up and shipped it to HP. I should have my replacement early next week. Until then, I'm on Teen Queen's ancient desktop computer, slow as molasses but better than nothing.

In the meantime, WiscoDave gave me a link to an online magazine with the idea of writing an article about Jebadiah Fisher Garden Seeds. I know several of y'all planted Jeb's seeds this year, and I would LOVE to include some testimonials and garden pics from your bountiful harvests. And if there is someone out there with desktop publishing talents, we could work up a nice brochure for him. The seed business is slowing down at at time when we should all be ramping up preps. Remember, it's not just about guns and  bullets. You can't eat bullets. So shoot me an email, I'll try to keep up on TQ's dinosaur and next week we start anew.

Personally, I believe everyone would be better off if we spent a little less time on the internet. A blessing in disguise maybe? I am going outside now and toss my smart phone in the lake.

Thanks for the update. Was wondering why no new posts.

I am sorry to hear what happened.

Back in January, somthing, I do not know what, corrupted my install of Windows. Several programs would not run, and I was unable to access entire portions of my hard drive.

It is kind of refreshing to start new though.

Very interesting, my computer is at the computer guru's shop today because of multiple blue screens of death. And as for Jebadiah Fisher Garden Seeds, watch out if you plant them, you will have to buy a lot of canning jars, I bought 11 cases of quarts to handle the bounty

The good news about sending your computer to the manufacturer is that it'll be working great once you get it back. As "great" as it can, anyway.

Every time someone has computer trouble I suddenly realize that I have oddly little. I don't know why.

You blog....you don't speak nicely of the current regime. Installed programs that
fry hard drives when discovered and tampered
with are hallmarks of spook programs. Most
of the bloggers you link to likely have the same spyware installed. In your case something went wrong and the PC misfired. Most of the time these programs never ever make their presence known. Yours was an exception.

I may be buying their seeds if I see a good review from you. I use the linux operating system on all my six computers and do not worry about viruses. my laptop gets a lot more hours with this system than it did with windows.

I'm with Anonymous - Service Pack Linux all the way - but the most important malware protection you have is in your brain. And keep the younguns off your PC - kids tend to click links without thinking.
