Stereotypes

Okay, considering every family trip or vacation we've taken in the last 20 years, I've been solely responsible for packing, I can assure you I only pack necessities. And, God forbid, if anything ISN'T packed, if one little thing is missing, I'll hear about it. But I've gotten it down to a science. I can pack for 4 for a week in two small suitcases. Less if it's a summer vacation.

That one doesn't fit me I pack like a prepper.Never know if you'll need it but it makes me warm inside knowing I got it.

Ammo, food, beer and rifles would NOT fit into that Walmart bag.

I pack like a D-Day landing force. My long suffering wife can live out of an over night bag and a nearby walmart for weeks---Ray

Keads, why, on my feet of course!

Gimme a spare clean camo Tshirt and 50 bucks and I'm good for a week. Why the 50 bucks? Socks and more Tshirts.

2 Levis, 5 pair socks, 5 shirts, two handkerchiefs, and $20 in quarters and I'm good for a month or more. Happens nearly every summer on the scoot traveling America!

The Walmart bag would be for my lunch. All the SHTF stuff is already in all of the vehiculars, including the KLR650, but not the boat. No worries there, Transfer where needed.

My pack for a week is about 1/2 the size of pictured rolling suitcase. A small duffle bag with a spare pair of pants and cutoffs, pair of T-shirts and 2 pair of underwear and socks. Multi-tool or SAK, flashlight, Buck or Schrade folding knife and occasionally, a pistol gripped shotgun with small ammo cache for just in case world goes bat shit crazy.

All fit in duffle bag and one of the outside pockets has an empty 'string bag' in case I need more room. The vehicle has a self containing folded duffle bag in case I need more, but I very rarely need it.

My packing isn't overboard but it's more than yours Angel. As the kidlet crew gets older, my packing gets lighter. The crew and I went to Houston for two weeks with only a carry on and backpack each. Granted, we could've done less if we didn't 'need' books, toys, and stuffed animals. Hey, it kept them from being a menace at the airport. ;) It's also easier now that the GF thing is getting under control and Little Miss isn't needing 6-10 outfit changes a day.

I pack like I might never come home. Guns, food, silver, everything. Makes me nervous to be more than an hour by car from home base. Maybe I should quit reading the internet.
